This patent workshop will cover the need to protect your technology with patents of appropriate scope and in the appropriate countries of the world. A balance must be struck as to the cost and the benefit of patent protection.
During this workshop, you will learn how:
• Scope of patent protection and costs vary around the world and how that may impact your company.
• Investigating the potential patent protection and freedom to operate issues early in product development can favorably impact product design, investor interest and commercialization.
• To determine when to sue a competitor for patent infringement and whether the competitor’s activities are under the safe harbor of 35 USC 271(e)(1).
• To determine whether injunctions and/or monetary damages are available against your competitors.
• To determine whether attorney fees may be recovered from patent litigation.
