Dr. Leon Lachman is the Chairman of the Board, CEO and founder of Lachman Consultants. He, along with his cadre of specialists, provides exemplary services to the pharmaceutical, device, diagnostic, biological, and biotechnology industries. During his more than 40 years in the pharmaceutical industry, he has been at the forefront in the shift from the trial-and-error approach of dosage form development to the scientific approach to dosage form design. He has been involved in improving the practices of quality control and in the development, interpretation and evaluation of the GMPs, GLPs, GCPs, LVPs/SVPs, as well as numerous other FDA regulations, guidelines, and guidances published by the FDA. Dr. Lachman has contributed to more than 70 publications, including textbooks, on the subjects of quality control, stability testing, sterilization, lyophilization, complexations, kinetics, statistical applications to pharmaceutical systems, and more. Additionally, he has a number of patents in the area of pharmaceutical testing and dosage form design, and has presented numerous lectures for various societies, associations, and colleges of pharmacy. Dr. Lachmann has a M.Sc. and B. Sc. from Columbia University College of Pharmacy and a Ph. D from the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy.
